Today we are talking about a very important topic which is “Boiler Operation Engineers’ Eligibility Criteria for BOE Examination” BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer)is a very necessary document for those who worked in the power plant industries without it a boiler owner does not operate the boiler in any condition. He shows the BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer) certificate to government and takes the permission for operating the boiler. After past few months lot’s of accident facing in
power industries like NTPC is the major accident from those. So BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer) certificate is doing necessary for the people who worked in the power sector for safe operation of the boiler and avoid the accident. In this article we also tell about why the BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer) certificate is required? And why boiler operation engineer is required in the power plant.
Eligibility Criteria for Boiler Operation Engineers’ Examination:

| 3. Age: | Not less than 23 years |
| 4. Photograph: | 2 copies of recent self attested passport size (50mmX65mm) photograph signed on the back side by the candidate. |
| 5. Character Certificate: | From the Employer. |
| 6. Fees: | Rs.1500 |
| 7. Documents: | One set of self attested copy of all relevant documents. |
| 8. N.O.C: | From the Director of Boilers of the Concerned State for candidates of other states. |
Introduction about boiler operation engineer examination :
In large power plants which have Large boilers should be kept under the charge of a Certified Boiler Operation Engineer while they are operating (boiler started steaming) . This Directorate is conducting these Boiler Operation Engineers’ Examination generally twice in a year and providing certificates to the successful candidates as per the said Rules. This examination is depending upon the state government which give the permission for conducting the examination which may be twice in year or once in 6 years it depends on the reputation of the board.
Where Boiler Operation Engineer is required?
i)The owner of A Single boiler or
ii) Two or more boilers connected in a battery
iii) Many separate individual boilers situated in a radius of 50 meters having a total heating surface exceeding 1000 sq. meters shall not use the same or permit the same to be used unless the boiler or boilers are placed in direct charge of a certified Boiler Operation Engineer as per the Boiler Operation Engineers’ Rule, 2011.
Age and medically fitness:
A candidate shall not be less than twenty-three years of age on given exam date and not too old and physically unfit through, constitutional weakness defective eyesight deafness or loss of limb to perform efficiently the duties as a boiler operation engineer.
Education and work experience
1. A candidate must be fulfilled the requirements which are given below for appearing the boiler operation engineer examination
2. He Passed out degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical or chemical or power plant or production or instrumentation engineering from a recognized institution
3. He served for not less than two years in case a degree holder and five years
4. In case a diploma holder in operation and / or maintenance of a boiler of not less than 1000 m2 (one thousand square meters) heating surface or a battery of boilers of not less than 1000m2 (one thousand square meters) heating surface in aggregate, out of which at least one boiler is of not less than 500m2 (five hundred square meters) heating surface.
5. In other case like degree holder or post graduate diploma holders from NPTI (national power training Institute), requirement of minimum working experience shall be one-year.
FEES FOR BOE (BOILER OPERATION ENGINEER) EXAMINATION
an amount of Rs. 1500.00 (Rupee one thousand five-hundred) only in shape of treasury Callahan deposited into provincial head of account in concerned board of boiler Examination Department on any treasury of that state.
Date of boiler operation engineer examination
the exact date and venue of written examination, details of candidates selected for written examination, date and venue of oral examination shall be intimidated in due course. Applicants may refer the Department websites for periodical updates on the matter.
