Induced Draft cooling tower:
Induced draft type cooling tower is used to reduce the temperature such as steam turbine condenser, oil cooler, and air cooler. induced draft cooling tower fan is installed exit of the air flow and draws air through the outside of the cooling tower tower. induced draft cooling tower structures contain: cooling tower shell, special packing for cooling, nozzles, cooling fans and drives, cooling hairdryer, dosing equipment, circulating pumps, circulating water mains, and so on.
Main Process Flow of the Induced Draft Cooling Tower
In the induced draft cooling tower is cooled by sprayed from the nozzle of the upper header of the cooling tower and forms a uniform distribution of water droplets in the tower, then falls on the packing inside the tower, this packing consist of uniform bunches of fins or honey comb type structure finally falls into the reservoir. Because the heat cooling area of the packing is relatively large, and there is a fan at the top of the tower exhausting wind, the droplets are cooled in the process of relative movement with the wind, and flows into the reservoir. Then the cooling water pump( C.W.P )sent to the condenser which is used for the purpose of reduced the temperature of condensate which is coming through turbine.
The cooling tower must be make up (adding water in cooling tower) some water every day because of the evaporation loss. The cooling effect of the cooling water circulation inside cooling tower is very important and it directly affects the degree of vacuum inside the condenser that is whether it can transfer the saturated steam discharge from the turbine into water.
The Temperature Rise of the Circulating Water
It is the temperature difference between outlet water temperature and inlet water temperature of the condenser cooling water. When the temperature rise of circulating water of induced draft cooling tower can monitor through the DCS ( Distributed control system ) engineer whether the amount of the condenser cooling water meet the usage for cooling the turbine exhaust steam. Besides, it can offer to analyze the cleanness of the condenser tube plate.
The reason for the high temperature rise in Induced Draft cooling water:
(1) The reason behind raise the temperature of circulating water increases the turbidity of water. And the steam flow increases when the amount of the cooling water is unchanged.
(2) The amount of the cooling water decreases in condenser.
(3) The copper pipe is relatively clean after cleaning it because due to high turbidity of cooling water .it contain the high impurities in the form of sand, clay and TDS , other type of impurities like clay , alga etc. the impurities stick inside the copper pipe surface and restrict the flow of cooling water.
There is a set of dosing equipment for the cooling tower water treatment. The main functions of dosing equipment is the to prevent the inside pipe surface of the cooling water from scaling and avoid producing sticky dirt and avoid the increasing of the microbiological -organisms inside the water pipe and inside the water tank of the cooling tower.
