THERMIC FLUID HEATER WORKING AND IT’S OPERATION :-
Today we are discussed about the thermic fluid heater. Thermic fluid heater is generally used for the small heating industrial purpose. Now these days Thermic fluid heater are great in demand because of its Operation simplicity or low maintenance cost. Thermic Fluid Heating system is a fully automatic packaged type boiler, in thermic fluid heater oil or gas could be fired after firing it hot gases pass through 3 pass in thermic fluid heater due to effect of hot gases in Thermic fluid heated up to 300° C almost at atmospheric pressure.
Hot thermic fluid is circulated in close loop in thermic fluid heater. The heat is transferred to process through a heat exchanger in user equipment. The flame travel inside the thermic fluid heater in 3 pass 1st pass – vertically downward from the burner. 2nd pass – travel vertically up in the gap between, 3rd pass travel between 2nd pass cell and outer casing of the heater. And outer cell of the heater is covered by high temperature insulation which protect the heat loss with ambient.
A thermal fluid heater uses a liquid phase heat transfer medium to put heat energy into a process. Now these days thermic oil, glycol, or water are common heat mediums which are used by being heated and circulated to heat energy in industrial purpose within a closed loop system
Features Of Thermic Fluid Heater
1. Fully Automatic Unit- thermic fluid heater is fully automatic during the Operation it maintains the desired temperature of a thermic fluid.
2. Higher System Efficiency- thermic fluid heater is simply in operation and No need to higher skills so it’s reduced operating cost.
3. High Flow Rate- the higher life of thermic fluid & heater coil.
4. Minimum Site Work- during the installation of thermic fluid heater less man power is required so it’s also reduced the Installation cost of thermic fluid heater.
5. Rugged design & superior construction-Smooth operation for many years Fail safe design & dependable safety instruments Backed by prompt & efficient after sales service
THERMIC FLUID CIRCULATION SYSTEM IN TERMIC FLUID HEATER
Thermic fluid is circulated in the system using Two high temperature centrifugal pump.
Expansion tank is fitted in the return line, which acts as a buffer for the change in the volumes of the thermic fluid due to changes in the fluid temperature.
The De-aerator tank fitted in the return line drives out the air entrapped in thermic fluid
during filling of the system prior to commissioning. Also it drives out the gases generated because of the low boil outs present in the system. The circulation pumps provide the sufficient head to circulate the oil in the heat Exchanger and in the total thermic fluid circuit including utility.

DE-AERATOR AND EXPANSION TANK FOR THERMIC FLUID HEATER
The thermic fluid in the complete circuit expands in volume, when it is heated. The
rate of expansion in volume is 7% per 100 C rises in temperature of thermic fluid.
Hence the selection of size of expansion tank depends upon fluid content of the total
system. As a guideline the expansion tank capacity should be minimum 20% of the
total volume of oil to be filled up in the system. The Deaeration vessel capacity
depends upon the flow rate. Its size can be roughly decided considering 2.5 to 3 m/s
fluid velocity at its inlet nozzle. In case the volumetric expansion of thermic fluid of the
system is more than the capacity of expansion tank provided, a separate extra
expansion tank needs to be incorporated.
This tank should be installed at least 1 meter (3 feet) above the highest point in the thermic fluid pipeline. It is also necessary to confirm that the NPSH available at pump suction is more, by at least 0.5 m, than the NPSH required for your pump. The thermic fluid also contains some higher fractions, which flash off at elevated temperature while commissioning. These are to be driven out of the system to have proper functioning of the equipment. The deaerator tank is so designed as to take Take care of the expansion of thermic fluid during the expansion time and also to drive away the gases or entrapped air.
Types of industries that make use of the thermal fluid heater systems for their process these Industries are given below:-
1.Publishing and print industries
2. Timber processing plant
3.Metal fabrication and finishing services
4. Paper production companies
5.Textile processing facilities
6.Automobile manufacturing plants
7.Natural gas processing & transmission
8.Crude oil extraction, processing, & transmission
10.Food processing plants
11.Rubber and plastics processing
12. Rigid packing companies
